He married Teelke Lühring 24 May 1884 in Schwerinsdorf, Ostfriesland, Niedersachsen, Germany, daughter of Unknown Father and Geeske Dirks Lühring. She was born 13 August 1858 in Steenfelde, Ostfriesland, Kingdom of Prussia, and died 09 May 1949 in Browning, Saskatchewan, Canada.
